Trees shade the tiny streams high up in the San Gabriel Mountains. But between the brown branches and green leaves the hot summer sun shins through. The sharp sunlight reflects in swirls and patters on top of the flowing water.

Proof that there is still water in Los Angeles. Be it ocean, stream, river or lake.

Entering under the 6th street bridge, the concreted Los Angeles River displays its glory in straight human lines and flowing natural curves.

In the center of Pasadena is a short man-made river, all hard angles and fake animals. In this river are a few fountains. This is what water looks like when frozen at one one-thousand-six-hundreds of a second (1/1600).
